Portable Mini Glass Backup Instrument that Adds Altitude, VSI, and Relative Altitude to a Proven Turn Coordinator Core
SAFETURN PLUS WITH ALT / REL ALT / VSI FOR $299.95
Does not include altitude, relative altitude, or vertical speed functions.
SafeTurn Plus™, is the newest addition to our portable instrument line. This battery-backed backup instrument is built for General Aviation and Experimental Aircraft pilots who want meaningful cockpit information in a clean, self-contained package.
SafeTurn Plus pairs a smooth, scan-friendly turn coordinator + slip/skid ball with an expanded “mini-glass” feature set: Altitude with Kollsman setting, ROW (Rest Of World) unit support, VSI (digital + tape), and Relative Altitude (digital + tape) — all with adjustable dimming and a pilot-selectable response filter to tune the feel from snappy to damped.
Built for real-world scan and real-world variability
SafeTurn Plus is designed to be practical in everyday GA flying: bright enough for daylight readability, dimmable for night ops, and easy to interpret at a glance. The result is a portable backup that complements panel avionics without pretending to replace them.
"Backup instruments shouldn’t feel like toys — and they shouldn’t require rewiring your airplane,” said James Wiebe, President & CEO of Radiant. “SafeTurn Plus is purpose-built for pilots who want a compact, independent instrument they can trust: turn coordination at the core, plus the altitude, vertical trend, and AGL cues that matter every flight.”
STANDARD SAFETURN without altitude, relative-altitude, or vertical-speed functions $199.95
BOTH VERSIONS AVAILABLE WITH HOLSTER FOR 3 1/8" PANEL

To Our Customers
Radiant Instruments is a small aviation company that develops innovative avionics for experimental aircraft, carbon monoxide detectors for the cockpit, and portable aviation instruments (non-TSO/non-PMA). Products are engineered and designed by our founder, with final assembly, calibration, and quality control at our facility in Wichita, Kansas.
The instruments from Radiant Technology are not designed to be used in applications where their failure would endanger safe flight or human life in any way. They are intended solely for use in VFR conditions. They are not certified to meet any Technical Standard Order, and are not produced under a Parts Manufacturing Authority (TSO / PMA). As a result, they are suitable only for use in experimental and ultralight aircraft, and in Light Sport Aircraft, if meeting the requirements of the respective manufacturer.
