SafeTurn Plus™, is the newest addition to our portable instrument line. This battery-backed backup instrument is built for General Aviation and Experimental Aircraft pilots who want meaningful cockpit information in a clean, self-contained package.

SafeTurn Plus pairs a smooth, scan-friendly turn coordinator + slip/skid ball with an expanded “mini-glass” feature set: Altitude with Kollsman setting, ROW (Rest Of World) unit support, VSI (digital + tape), and AGL (digital + tape) — all with adjustable dimming and a pilot-selectable response filter to tune the feel from snappy to damped.

Built for real-world scan and real-world variability

SafeTurn Plus is designed to be practical in everyday GA flying: bright enough for daylight readability, dimmable for night ops, and easy to interpret at a glance. The result is a portable backup that complements panel avionics without pretending to replace them.

"Backup instruments shouldn’t feel like toys — and they shouldn’t require rewiring your airplane,” said James Wiebe, President & CEO of Radiant. “SafeTurn Plus is purpose-built for pilots who want a compact, independent instrument they can trust: turn coordination at the core, plus the altitude, vertical trend, and AGL cues that matter every flight.”

To Our Customers

We are in the business of offering innovative aircraft instruments for experimental aircraft flying, and backup / CO instruments for general aviation (non-TSO/non-PMA). The instruments from Radiant Technology are not designed to be used in applications where their failure would endanger safe flight or human life in any way. They are intended solely for use in VFR conditions. They are not certified to meet any Technical Standard Order, and are not produced under a Parts Manufacturing Authority (TSO / PMA). As a result, they are suitable only for use in experimental and ultralight aircraft, and in Light Sport Aircraft, if meeting the requirements of the respective manufacturer.

If you need support for your Radiant instrument purchase, please contact us by email at support@radiantinstruments.com. Because of our small staff, we do not have a direct phone number.  We do our best to respond to emails as soon as possible. If you do not hear from us within 48 hours, please try again. Shipping Information

Since we offer innovative aircraft instruments, we often introduce new products for sale that are in the final engineering phase. Sometimes an engineering problem emerges in the final phase that delays our production runs. This means that if you are ordering a new product, we could be several weeks out from shipping. We try to keep our product pages up to date with shipping information.

As of 2025, there are only two of us working Radiant instruments. We manufacture products in batches, and cycles take about a month. It is always best to order now and get on the list. We do charge your card at the time your order is placed.

We are ship by USPS Ground Advantage. We do not ship internationally, but our distributor, Aircraft Spruce does. Please order at https://www.aircraftspruce.com/. Search "RADIANT" and most of our products should pop up.
