RADIANT has developed an 8 channel aviation scanner called AirLite Tactical. With outstanding clarity and sensitivity, it helps the pilot sort out multiple channels of aviation communication with one diminutive pocket-sized radio.

In testing, James Wiebe, CEO of RADIANT, has easily listened to clear communications from jet traffic over Nebraska and northeast of Kansas City, Missouri. (James’ testing lab is in southern Kansas.)

Most of the development of the project was funded through a 600%+ successful Kickstarter campaign under the name of SCARP. Many audio sessions have been recorded using various prototypes and are available to review on YouTube.

“I’ve been most impressed with the ability to follow the flow of communication as FAA Controllers handle multiple aircraft on different frequencies. This helps the pilot understand why a particular channel has gone silent, or what other traffic the Controller is handling. It also assists understanding of what is happening in high traffic areas, so that a pilot can listen to Unicom, Clearance, Approach, and ATIS (on demand), without having to flip frequencies."

AirLite Tactical will be a very effective tool for IFR training and great for FBOs, offering a multi-channel radio monitor for pilot planning rooms. Finally, I think anyone who loves to listen to aviation traffic will enjoy owning and using AirLite Tactical.”

To Our Customers

We are in the business of offering innovative aircraft instruments for experimental aircraft flying, and backup / CO instruments for general aviation (non-TSO/non-PMA). The instruments from Radiant Technology are not designed to be used in applications where their failure would endanger safe flight or human life in any way. They are intended solely for use in VFR conditions. They are not certified to meet any Technical Standard Order, and are not produced under a Parts Manufacturing Authority (TSO / PMA). As a result, they are suitable only for use in experimental and ultralight aircraft, and in Light Sport Aircraft, if meeting the requirements of the respective manufacture.

Support

If you need support for your Radiant instrument purchase, please contact us by email at support@radiantinstruments.com. Because of our small staff, we do not have a direct phone number.  We do our best to respond to emails as soon as possible. If you do not hear from us within 48 hours, please try again. Shipping Information

Since we offer innovative aircraft instruments, we often introduce new products for sale that are in the final engineering phase. Sometimes an engineering problem emerges in the final phase that delays our production runs. This means that if you are ordering a new product, we could be several weeks out from shipping. We try to keep our product pages up to date with shipping information.

As of 2025, there are only two of us working Radiant instruments. We manufacture products in batches, and cycles take about a month. It is always best to order now and get on the list. We do charge your card at the time your order is placed.

We are now able to offer 2nd day UPS shipping on domestic orders, as well as USPS Ground Advantage. In some cases, we may need to revise you shipping amount, and will notify you by email of that change.
