Fowler Flaps & Drooped Ailerons

STOL Magnificence.

Takeoff and landing performance is enhanced with a wing that has a high coefficient of lift. What this means is that slower speeds develop more lift, relative to the same wing without the lift enhancement of flaps & droop. Slower is better for performance and for safety.

The coefficient of lift can reach up to 2.6 with Fowler flaps. Drooped ailerons also help, but not as much.

Have you ever taken a good look at fowler flaps, in action, on the plane? I've curated some special photographs that show how I designed this feature into Chipper 2 (and now I'm putting them into an ultralight that I've offered for sale, as well.)

I'm in the process of rebuilding this ultralight, along with a new wing design similar to the Chipper 2 aerodynamics. This is the original design with full span ailerons.
